Terms of Use

These terms set the conditions for using El Monte Residents Directory. Accessing or using the reference means you accept them. If you do not agree, do not use it.

1. What the Reference Provides

El Monte Residents Directory is a privately operated reference to public rolls, record indexes, and directory collections connected with El Monte, California. It may describe or link to a custodian, but it does not host government records and has no affiliation with any office, court, library, or records holder.

2. Permitted and Prohibited Use

Use the reference only for lawful purposes. You may not use it, or information reached through it, to:

  • Stalk, harass, intimidate, threaten, or harm any person
  • Locate someone protected by a restraining or protective order
  • Commit identity theft or fraud
  • Make an FCRA-regulated decision, including one about credit, employment, housing, or insurance
  • Scrape, copy, or republish the site's content at scale
  • Interfere with the site's operation or security

3. No Consumer Reporting Agency Status

This reference is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. § 1681 et seq. Neither its text nor a result from a linked tool is a consumer report. Neither may be used to decide eligibility for credit, employment, housing, insurance, or another purpose regulated by the FCRA.

4. Third-Party Links

Government portals and outside services, including sponsored search tools, set their own terms and privacy rules. El Monte Residents Directory does not control their content, availability, charges, or data practices.

5. No Warranties

The reference is supplied "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind. Accuracy, completeness, currentness, uninterrupted access, and the performance of a linked portal are not guaranteed.

6. Liability Limits

To the fullest extent allowed by law, the operators are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from use of this reference or a linked resource, including a decision based on a record reached through it.

7. Your Indemnification Promise

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold the operators harmless from a claim or demand, including reasonable attorneys' fees, that results from your misuse of the reference or breach of these terms.

8. Intellectual Property

The original writing, design, logo, and layout are protected by copyright. Linking to a page and quoting a brief attributed excerpt is welcome; republishing full pages or copying the material systematically is not.

9. Changes

A revised version may be posted here at any time. Continued use after the revision is posted constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

10. Access Restrictions

Access may be blocked or limited for a user who violates these terms or abuses the reference, at the operators' discretion and without advance notice.

11. Governing Law

These terms are governed by California law, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Public-records references are informed by the California Public Records Act, Government Code §§7920.000 et seq., while consumer-privacy references point to the California Consumer Privacy Act and California Privacy Rights Act, Civil Code §1798.100 et seq.

12. Severability

If a court finds one provision unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect.
